Persistence Paid Off Big Time

Here she is, Mrs. Donna Apperson, "Mrs. Persistence." The Lady that would not stop asking me to minister at the prison. How many times have you said, "I really don't want to impose upon someone? I can't make them do it."  That is true we cannot make people do things but sometimes we can be just the nudge that they need to do what they should. Donna was that nudge for me. Had she not asked me several times I would be angry with her throughout eternity. I would have missed out on the wonderful opportunity to serve the women in the prison according to what Jesus spoke about in  Matt. 25: 35-36,

For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, was naked and you clothed Me, I was sick and you looked after Me, I was in prison and you visited Me.’…

I would have missed out on what God was trying to teach me. I would have missed out on writing, Answering the Call of God and discovering a divine opportunity in unexpected place because I would not have answered. Thank God for persistent people like Donna who don't give up. It's not just those who may be away from God that we need to pursue. We also have to pursue those that know God but have a tendency to run away from what does fit our plans. I'm learning to ask God, "Does my plan line up with your plan?" And however he responds I'm okay with it.
